Punit Sharma earned his MBA and Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine Paul Merage School of Business. Prior to this, he earned his BA in Neuroscience from The Johns Hopkins University and has also served as a Science and Technology Policy Fellow with the National Academy of Sciences.
Punit’s research lies at the intersection of strategy and technology management. His research examines the ways firms achieve innovation both within and between firms and has presented his research at numerous international conferences. Punit is a member of the Academy of Management and a member of the Strategic Management Society’s Knowledge and Innovation Interest Group.
Punit has taught both as an instructor and as a TA at University of California, Irvine, where he has earned numerous teaching awards. He has gained insights into how business is conducted internationally by accompanying the Executive MBA cohorts in their international residentials to Asia and the Middle East for the past five years.
Punit’s experience outside academia includes almost two decades in the biotechnology and healthcare sectors, where he has worked both for government entities, including the National Cancer Institute, and for non-profit entities, including the National Academy of Sciences, where he directed science and technology policy toward alliances among Fortune 500 companies.
