Stephen Cooke is an adjunct professor at the UCI Paul Merage School of Business where, among other subjects, he teaches graduate level courses on board governance. He also as the co-chair of the Steering Committee for the undergraduate Leadership Experience and Development for Success program (LEADS) at the school. Previously, he served for many years on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Chapter of the American Red Cross, including two terms as Board Chair, and on the Chapter’s Audit Committee. He is a frequent speaker on governance and securities law topics, has prior experience as a director of a regional bank, and has written extensively on the disclosure requirements of public companies. Steve is currently the co-chair of the annual UCI Audit Committee Summit. After more than 37 years of practicing corporate and securities law, Steve is now retired from the international law firm of Paul Hastings LLP, where he was a partner for 27 years.
