Terry L. Schmidt, DrHA, joins the University of California, Irvine, The Paul Merage School of Business, as a lecturer in the Economics/Public Policy academic area. Formerly Assistant Director, Department of Emergency Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina, and Washington, D.C. representative for the American College of Emergency Physicians, he has contract managed multiple physician practices.
A graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Schmidt is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA), and a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) of the Medical Group Management Association (American College of Medical Practice Executives). As an Adjunct Professor at San Diego State University, he teaches in the Graduate School of Public Health, in addition to appointments at Chapman University and National University.
His teaching passions are health policy, health law, healthcare financing, health services management, and physician practice management.
