Neiswender's expertise lies in partnering with faculty to build learning experiences that are pedagogically strong, engaging, and reflect the unique expertise and personality of each instructor. With a foundation in both technology and education, Neiswender approaches learning design with the philosophy that technology should serve as a tool to facilitate deeper and more dynamic learning.

Caryn Neiswender's professional journey includes valuable experience across the University of California system, where she contributed to significant educational technology initiatives. Neiswender has experience working within the Office of Information Technology (OIT) at UCI, supporting educational technology on the EEE Team and playing a key role in the campus transition from the homegrown EEE platform to UCI Canvas. Her experience also extends to the University of California, San Diego, where she served as a Senior Instructional Designer in the Teaching and Learning Commons. While at a community college in San Diego, Neiswender supported science education during a time of significant advancement.

Holding a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science complemented by formal studies in mathematics, Neiswender brings a unique analytical and information-oriented perspective to learning design. This background enhances her ability to craft learning activities and curriculum that inspire students and set them up to become lifelong learners.
