As the Associate Director, Learning Experience Design in Digital Learning at the Paul Merage School of Business, Caryn Neiswender supports the development of courses and instructional materials by directly working with faculty to develop courses and managing the Learning Experience Design team. She is passionate about using innovative technology and strong pedagogy to craft learning experiences that engage students' imagination and propel them to deeper levels of understanding. She enjoys working with instructors to articulate a vision, develop assets, implement efficacious courses, and iteratively enhance student learning opportunities.

Caryn is formally trained in mathematics (undergraduate, University of California, Irvine) and Library and Information Science (graduate, San Jose State University). She has been involved in the transition of learning management systems, design and production of high quality multimedia resources, effective professional development, and program creation. She enjoys collaborating with instructors, exploring new technology, and sharing findings with the broader academic community.

Caryn's professional history includes roles at both UC Irvine and UC San Diego, in addition to MiraCosta College. She has worked in technology, program coordination, scientific research, and in various roles supporting academic programs. Throughout her professional journey, Caryn has facilitated engaged learning. She provided training and consultation on pedagogically strong use of technology (e.g. Canvas, Zoom), assessment techniques, crafting effective learning experiences and leveraging technology strategically.
