Does this program award the same degree as the Full-Time MBA Program and the Fully Employed MBA Program at Merage?
Yes. All Merage MBA students receive identical MBA degrees, and the same internationally renowned faculty teaches all MBA programs.
How is the EMBA program different than the other MBA programs offered at Merage?
The EMBA program is a part-time MBA program for professionals, managers, entrepreneurs and executives on an advanced career path. Students in this program have an average of 13-15 years of progressive work experience. Students are encouraged to bring their professional experiences and challenges to enhance the classroom learning across disciplines and industries.
What is the class meeting schedule?
Classes meet on Friday and Saturday on alternating weekends.
Friday afternoon (1:00 pm start) and Saturday all day (8:30 am – 4:00 pm).
How long is the MBA program?
The Executive MBA Program is 21 months long. It starts in September every year and ends 21 months later in June.
How much time do students spend outside the classroom working on projects?
Merage EMBA students spend an average of 15-20 hours a week outside the classroom on individual assignments and group projects.
How large is the entering cohort?
EMBA cohorts typically have between 35-40 students.
Does my undergraduate degree need to be in business?
You are not required to have an undergraduate degree in the business area. The Merage School recruits and admits individuals from a broad range of academic and professional backgrounds.
What is the cost of the Executive MBA Program?
The total cost for the Fall 2014 2017 EMBA Program was $113,211 or $16,173 per quarter. There are four quarters in the first year of the program, and three in the second year. Tuition includes registration, fees, textbooks and materials,course software, parking, lodging during all three residentials, and meals while on campus. Tuition is expected to increase 2-5% for the entering Fall 2018 class.
Is financial aid available?
Yes. Financial aid is not based on need. A number of financial aid opportunities are available, including government and private loans. See Financial Aid for more information. Additionally, the Merage School offers a number of partial merit-based scholarships for qualified candidates.

Are there any prerequisites for this program?
In addition to having a 4 year Bachelor's degree from an accredited University, it is important to demonstrate competence in analytical skills in your application, either through undergraduate math courses or your GMAT score. We also recommend students have a working knowledge of Excel prior to starting the program.
What are the minimum requirements for admittance to the EMBA program?
Students must have a Bachelor’s Degree (a GPA of 3.0 or better is preferred) and a minimum of eight years of work experience. GMAT results may be requested. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) results may required if the language of instruction at your undergraduate university was not in English.
How much is the application fee? Can it be waived?
The application fee is $150. We waive the application fee for veterans, current members of the U.S. military, and UCI Alumni. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for the application fee waiver prior to application submission.
What does the Admissions Committee look for in an applicant?
The Admissions committee takes into consideration the candidate's professional background, including progression in your career, academic preparedness, accomplishments and strong interpersonal skills.

Is the GMAT/GRE required?
The GMAT/GRE are an optional component of the application. The GMAT or GRE exam may be requested by the admissions committee for those applicants who are unable to demonstrate, either through past academic performance or work experience, sufficient strength in the areas of quantitative and analytical reasoning.
How do I apply?
From whom should I get my letters of recommendation?
Two professional letters of recommendation are required for every application. At least one letter should come from your current employer or supervisor, or from a recent employer or supervisor. If you are a CEO or entrepreneur, a letter from a colleague or client would be appropriate. There is an electronic form which will be sent to your recommeders directly from the online application. It contains 6 short answer questions to be filled out by the recommender.
