Does this program award the same degree as the Full-Time MBA Program and the Fully Employed MBA Program at Merage?
Yes. All Merage MBA students receive identical MBA degrees, and the same internationally renowned faculty teaches all MBA programs.
How is the EMBA program different than the other MBA programs offered at Merage?
The EMBA program is a part-time MBA program for professionals, managers, entrepreneurs and executives on an advanced career path. Students in this program have an average of 11-15 years of progressive work experience. Students are encouraged to bring their professional experiences and challenges to enhance the classroom learning across disciplines and industries.
What is the class meeting schedule?
Classes meet four weekends per academic quarter on Friday afternoon from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Each academic quarter is 10 weeks in duration.
How long is the MBA program?
The Executive MBA Program is 21 months long. It starts in September every year and ends 21 months later in June.
How much time do students spend outside the classroom working on projects?
Merage EMBA students spend an average of 10-15 hours a week outside the classroom on individual assignments and group projects.
How large is the entering cohort?
EMBA cohorts typically have between 40-50 students.
Does my undergraduate degree need to be in business?
You are not required to have an undergraduate degree in the business area. The Merage School recruits and admits individuals from a broad range of academic and professional backgrounds.
What is the cost of the Executive MBA Program?
Tuition for the EMBA program is $16,658 per quarter. The full price of the program for all seven quarters is $116,606. There are four quarters in the first year of the program and three quarters in the second year.
As an EMBA student, you will attend three residentials. All residential fees except airfare are included in the tuition.
Tuition includes registration, fees, textbooks, course materials and software, parking, lodging during all three residentials, and meals during class weekends. It also includes membership to the UCI Athletic Center.
Actual tuition, fees and charges are subject to change by the Regents of the University of California and may be affected by State Funding reductions. Final approved levels and your final balances due may differ from the amounts shown.
Is financial aid available?
Yes. Financial aid is not based on need. A number of financial aid opportunities are available, including government and private loans. See Financial Aid for more information. Additionally, the Merage School offers a number of partial merit-based scholarships for qualified candidates.

Are there any prerequisites for this program?
In addition to having a 4 year Bachelor's degree from an accredited University, it is important to demonstrate competence in analytical skills in your application, either through undergraduate math courses or your Executive Assessment score. We also recommend students have a working knowledge of Excel prior to starting the program.
What are the minimum requirements for admittance to the EMBA program?
Students must have a Bachelor’s Degree (a GPA of 3.0 or better is preferred) and a minimum of eight years of work experience. Executive Assessment results may be requested, based on your academic record. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) results may be required if the language of instruction at your undergraduate university was not in English.
How much is the application fee? Can it be waived?
The application fee is $150. We waive the application fee for veterans, current members of the U.S. military, and UCI Alumni. Please contact email@example.com for the application fee waiver prior to application submission.
What does the Admissions Committee look for in an applicant?
The Admissions committee takes into consideration the candidate's professional background, including progression in your career, academic preparedness, accomplishments and strong interpersonal skills.

Is the GMAT/GRE required?
The Executive Assessment may be requested based on your academic record. If you have already taken the GMAT or GRE, we will accept your score in place of the Executive Assessment.
How do I apply?
From whom should I get my letters of recommendation?
Two professional letters of recommendation are required for every application. We recommend at least one letter should come from your current employer or supervisor, or from a recent employer or supervisor. If you are a CEO or entrepreneur, a letter from a colleague or client would be appropriate. There is an electronic form which will be sent to your recommenders directly from the online application. It contains 6 short answer questions to be filled out by the recommender.
