Byungwook Kim is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California Irvine. His research interests include asset pricing, investor behavior, asset management (ETFs, mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity), and fintech. His research has been published in leading academic journals such as the Review of Financial Studies and featured in the media, including Bloomberg, The Economist, Financial Times, Reuters, and The Wall Street Journal. He has presented his work at top economics and finance conferences, including meetings of the American Economic Association (AEA), the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), the Society for Financial Studies (SFS) Cavalcade, and the Western Finance Association (WFA), as well as conferences hosted by central banks such as the Federal Reserve Board and the Bank of Canada.
He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from The Ohio State University, an M.S. in Statistics from the University of Chicago, and a B.B.A. from Yonsei University.
